Bars clubs pubs and nightlife in Kos

Just as the day is dedicated to the sun, excursions and visits to museums and sites of interest, the night is meant for fun. Whatever you are looking for Kos can offer it. Many of the smaller villages across the island have bars that stay open until the small hours but the majority of vibrant nightlife can be found in Kos Town. To find the best, simply go to the port area of town and be guided by the crowd and the music. The long nights of Kos start with appetizers on the beach, venues such as Bluebird Psalidi, a local colonial-style establishment serves great cocktails. Many of the bars and clubs in the centre of town have happy hours where drinks can be purchased at a good price. In the old part of town, along Odos Ifestou and Apellou, you will find numerous bars and cafes, including the Global and the Bitter Sweet Cafe.

But the atmosphere heats up as the night goes on. Starting with the famous "bar mile" the two roads of pubs and bars located near the port and in the streets of Nafklirou Diakou, which starts at Platia Platanou up to Platia Eleftheria - you will find a number of bars, pubs and disco bars representing several European countries such as Britain, Netherlands, Ireland, Denmark and Norway, All these bars have comfortable outside seating and free admission. Here too you will find the Charisma Club, De Heaven, the Doors and the Hammam, the latter housed in an old Turkish bath furnished with original Turkish ottoman couches and tables where they play live music, both Greek and international hits. Among the largest nightclubs is the popular Fashion Club at number 2 Kanari, near Piazza Dolphins. This busy club has a continuous show of lights, lasers and dance until the early hours of the morning making it very popular with tourists and locals.

On the waterfront are Vassileos Georgiou, and also the 4 Roses Club Cafe, both have excellent music and a lively atmosphere. On Akti Zouroudi, on the beach at Lambi is the popular nightclub Heaven with a fantastic tropical garden and a swimming pool. Nearby, at Akti Zouroudi, is the Mylos Bar which is housed in an old restored windmill. This beautiful beach bar is one of the top island bars with a corner for billiards, backgammon and other board games during the day and in the evening comes alive with live music and DJs. Other bars and cafes along the harbour in front of the place where daily boat trips leave for Kalymnos are the clubs: Apoplous, which is on Odos Psalidi, close to the market- and is an exciting bouzouki club with live Greek music, while the Platanos, in front of the plane tree of Hippocrates, offers live music, often jazz. Inside Kos town there is also a cinema, the Orfeas Cinema, at 10 Vasileos Yioryiou, which has an open air summer cinema as well as a enclosed winter venue. The films shown are international Hollywood blockbusters, usually in English with Greek subtitles. .
